Now, something you can try at home: How to Extract DNA from Anything Living. Another interesting experiment is DNA Extraction From Wheat Germ. Also recommended: DNA Extraction Biotechniques Virtual Laboratory.

Thoughts Aside: A kitchen island is an absolute necessity of a modern kitchen today, no matter what part of the world it is in. The question of preferred kitchen faucet, cabinet etc comes later.

Hi. I’ve created an interactive periodic table on my chemistry blog page. Unlike the countless “me-too” html periodic tables, this one is definitively the best on the web. It is best by virtue of being smaller, faster, a single flash file (as opposed to multiple html pages), very full-featured, permitting special visualization in attribute graphs & most importantly in table coloring based on element attributes.

I am trying to get the word out to chemistry students and instructors, chemistry-fans on the web, and anyone intersted in science. The only accurate direct link to it is found on my chemistry blog page, http://www.touchspin.com/chem/

Check it out. And if you think agree that it stands out from the crowd, then please tell your chemistry students, or chemistry instructor, or include it as a link on your page.

    Thank you,

    brian
