Ice Chromatography

Cool Separations. ‘Ice denotes all things cool—ice beer, ice cream, ice sculptures, dentine ice, cool as ice—but ice chromatography? Although some chemists may believe that chromatography needs no help being cool, two researchers, Yuiko Tasaki and Tetsuo Okada, at the Tokyo Institute of Technology are exploring ice as a chromatographic medium because of its potential cost (can’t get much cheaper than water) and its unique attributes (Anal.
